Scripture:
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Devotion:
I love this verse because it reminds me that my temptation is common and that my God is faithful! Temptation can feel like it’s too much to bear, and shame will make you believe that you are the only one falling, but this verse reminds us that there is nothing new under the sun; this tempting is common, meaning you are not the only one. God knows the temptations that you face, and not only has He already covered you in His Grace, but He has provided you with a way of escape.
Prayer:
God, when I am tempted, help me to turn to You so that You can show me the way. You are faithful! I am not alone and because of Your Love and Compassion, I am not consumed.
