Day 4: 01/19/22

Scripture:

Psalm 19:14

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Devotion:

With so many things happening in our everyday lives, it is easy to become distracted and to take our eyes off God’s Word and Promises. When this happens, we experience a chain reaction of negativity that we would never willingly sign up for. Therefore, it is of great importance that we diligently monitor our thoughts and the meditation of our hearts. Your thoughts are powerful; they affect every aspect of your life by producing feelings, words, actions, habits, and outcomes.I heard it once like this, “Thoughts are like trains; they take you somewhere.” When you notice that your mind is taking you to a place that you don’t want to go, get off that train by redirecting your focus to the Word of God, remembering that He is above it all.

Prayer:

God, I pray to fix my focus on You, and not the troubles of this world. It is so easy to become discouraged, disappointed, and distracted by the circumstances around me. Show me when my focus has shifted to lesser things and remind my heart that You are above it ALL. At the sound of Your Name, every giant must fall!

Song:

“Still Holy” by Ryan Oféi and Naomi Raine (TRIBL | Maverick City Music)
