Day 2: 01/17/22
Scripture:
1 Peter 5:10
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Devotion:
Suffering can feel like it is going to last forever; it’s deceptive that way. Some pains, hurts, heartaches, and heartbreaks are so consuming that you believe you will never be able to escape. While none of us enjoy suffering, this part of the verse is comforting: “A little while.” It’s only going to last a little while. There’s a time limit on your suffering! And if that were not comforting enough in itself, you should know that there’s a promise attached to it as well. God promises to restore you and to make you strong, firm, and steadfast! You just have to keep holding on for a little while.
Prayer:
God, You work in ALL things for the good of those who love You and have been called according to Your Purpose. In the midst of my suffering, remind my heart that this too shall pass, that it is only temporary, and that in the end, You will restore me! You are making me strong, firm, and steadfast! Strengthen me, ABBA, and help me to endure this crushing for the joy set before me. You are making new wine!
