Word a Day Devotional
(Following along with the YouVersion Bible App)
Day 1: 01/16/22
Scripture:
Psalms 139:13-14
For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Devotion:
It’s easy to feel insecure about one thing or another when we are constantly comparing ourselves physically, mentally, financially, and relationally with the displayed highlight reels that we see of other people’s lives. However, the frequent thief of my joy and self-worth comes when I compare the version of myself now to the version of myself that I think I should be by now.
Should. Is “should” robbing you of your joy? Is it stripping you of your confidence?
Say this with me: I may not be where I want to be yet, but I’m thankful that I’m not where I used to be! God created me! He designed me with purpose and intention. Every detail of my being was carefully thought out and planned. I am beautifully and wonderfully made!
Prayer:
God, I thank You for creating me! Open my eyes to see myself the way that You see me! You don’t make mistakes. Everything You create is wonderfully made. When my mind monsters start to point out, criticize, or attack my every perceived flaw, Holy Spirit, remind me that You created, purposed, and use it ALL! Nothing about me is a mistake. You are the Potter, and I am Your clay. I am Your miraculous creation, covered in Your Love and Grace.
