This blog post is all about the essentials that beginner Cricut users need.

Did you just buy a Cricut? Want to know what to buy for your craft kit? I've got you! I have been using my Cricut for over two years and sold so many items with it! I'm going to share with you my must haves, go ahead and click the links to check out where I get it from! By the way, I use the Cricut Explore Air 2 and I got mine through Amazon! Find out what I believe to be the essentials for Cricut beginners.

If you are planning on making and selling water cups, mugs, or even decorating ornaments, adhesive vinyl is what you use. This goes hand in hand with transfer tape. You MUST use both for best application and no headaches!

A common thought people have is that you must buy Cricut brand because it is the best. I actually like off brand way more. It lasts longer and is way cheaper.

Trust me when I say the best pricing for alot of these items is always Amazon. Joaan's sometimes has coupons, but even with coupons it's still pricey. Hobby Lobby comes close to Amazon with some good deals so if you need it faster than 2 days, go there!

If you are planning on making cards, I would begin with an assortment of colors for practice. You always need random colors for small details anyways, so I always find use for every color.

Also, I would use light grip mats because peeling it off the mat can be tricky. It can sometimes bend and curl the paper if you take it off too quickly. I would use a spatula to help peel it off evenly.

I have only ever bought transfer tape once, and no it was not Cricut brand. This tape hold very well and is very sticky!

This is my personal favorite, but there are also tapes with gridlines that help with application.

I like too tell people I am an organized mess. I have a space for EVERYTHING. It's just not the most aesthetic looking.

This cabinet is where I store all my vinyls, mats, and tools. I place my cricut on top and BAM. It looks good and simple.

When I first began, I thought Cricut irons were a must. Investing in all the materials, I chose to hold off and save up for it. I used my regular, beat up iron in the meantime and found it worked perfectly fine! All my applications are clean, and I even wash clothing with vinyl and it doesn't come off.

The Cricut iron is not necessary, but can be cool since it has that digital screen with details of application. I don't think I will ever get it, so I'm telling you to choose what you want. Any type of iron works, but an iron is necessary for iron on vinyls.

If you plan to make and sell stickers, this is what you need. I use the app Procreate to draw up sticker pages, and then print it on this. Procreate is a one time purchase and I use it for so much! Even doubles as something to have the kids use. After printing, you place it into Cricut and the app tells the machine where to cut. You can package these and sell them straight onto Etsy.

This is my work table. It has never scratched, broken, or done me any wrong. I’ve had for it two years now and it is my favorite. The sides come down making it very space saving, and it has two bins underneath for storage.

These mats get dirty very quick. Because of the stickiness, it catches dust, hair, and anything it can. It loses tackiness with wear. There are so many pinterest hacks on cleaning these, but I’m more of the just buy a new one type of person.

If you plan to make designs using iron ons, this set is perfect in your kit. Like I said with cardstock, you ALWAYS need a random color for even the smallest of details. So, I always keep an assortment on deck.

These tools are used to take out the pieces of vinyl you don't need from your designs. I can't use any tools to replace this. This is just a MUST.

If you don't know exactly what you want to focus on, get this pack. This is the exact one I chose to begin with. I still have the same weeding tools. It has a mix of adhesive, iron on, and tools. Get this along with your machine to begin finding what you enjoy most.

Thank you for taking the time to read this friend!

I hope you have the time of your life with your Cricut and learn with ease! These are my must have cricut essentials for beginners.
