Hey business owner! Want to use Instagram to its MAX potential to promote your business? I will share with you my most successful tips on how I have used Instagram to quit my old minimum wage jobs and live off of what I make online. Here are my 7 tips on using Instagram to promote your business:

1. Switch to business profile

This inital change will allow you to access Instagram insights to better understand your audience. It is absolutely FREE to do. This is FREE analytics Instagram is providing you.

These tools allow you to see what posts are achieving the highest engagement, most likes, saves, etc. It will also share with you what time of day and which day your audience is most active. This gives you better understanding on optimal posting times. If you have a store, it will allow you to link your shop so you can bring direct traffic to your site. You’ll be able to have access to your demographic information, and see your growth throughout time.

These tools are not necessary, but they give you help in growing your account.

2. Post consistently

The more you put out content, the more you will be exposing your brand to consumers and potential consumers. The algorithm also favors consistency.

Consistency doesn’t have to mean everyday. It can mean 3 times a week, once a week, etc. But the more you are posting, the higher chances of success.

Don’t worry about posting too much. There is no such thing. If you are sharing quality content, your audience will stay and want more. Don’t post just for the sake of posting. Understand your brand and your audience, and post accordingly. If you are selling clothing, you aren’t going to be sharing photos of baby pigs. You should be sharing trends, new products, quotes on fashion, etc. Set up a calendar with ideas you have and set a time & date when you will deliver that.

3. Have clients share their experience with their purchase/service

There is seriously so much power in this. This is word of mouth marketing. Having your friends and family share what you are doing will significantly help your business’ exposure.

Also, having your clients share their experience will drive traffic to your Instagram and then your site. Maybe even give a discount or gift to all your clients that share a simple Instagram story.

Also, make sure to share that story on your feed so that your existing customers can see people are loving your products/services.

4. Giveaways

Giving products helps your brand. Just like Costco spending money on free samples for their members, you should be providing free samples of your product/service. So many people end up buying the product they sample in Costco. It will heighten your chances of future purchases. Not only that, but promoting giveaways on Instagram usually drives lots of followers and exposure. You have to spend money to make money, so start giving!

5. Collabs

Offer free products in exchange for Instagram posts and reviews. Select a few Instagram accounts that post related to your niche, so you can attract your audience. This will also bring exposure to your company, and give consumers more trust in your brand seeing that people they look up to are using what you provide.

6. Instagram Stories

This is a secret, free feedback tool. You can easily setup polls to get feedback on your products, on future ideas, on content ideas. Literally, you can get feedback on WHATEVER information you need. Make it fun and engaging and you can easily receive VALUABLE information from your audience. This is also a way you can bring them on inside and show how things work. This allows your consumers to feel closer and apart of your brand. Don’t make it a secret. Bring your audience in and show the process.

7. Highlights

Use highlights to categorize information your consumer would want to see. You want your potential clients to spend as much time as possible on your Instagram to then bring them to your site and make them lifelong consumers.

You can have highlights on reviews, background scenes, selfies with your consumers, traveling for your product, facts on why your product is worth the penny, etc.

Highlights serve as little commercials to promote your brand. Use them uniquely to your account!
